With a reputation for creating unprecedented, inspired music collaborations, The Toronto Tabla Ensemble joins forces with Chhandam and LAVISH dance companies for an evening of dynamic rhythm, subtle emotion and spontaneity. Kathak (north Indian classical dance) creates an explosion of dynamic rhythm, emotion and spontaneity. Dancers become kathakas or storytellers, taking the viewer to uncharted territory through physical narrative, rapid footwork and stunning pirouettes.

Modern belly dance is a present-day take on tradition, borrowing from world dances and contemporary influences, The fluid and sensual nature of belly dance isolations are paired with the power and rhythmic qualities of flamenco and kathak. The resulting creation is a cutting edge style that marries past with present.
