Anita Katakkar
|
Anita Katakkar (a.k.a. Rakkatak) has performed and toured nationally and internationally with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble since 1999. Her contemporary approach to tabla is a result of her multicultural roots in Toronto. She is a regular performer in the local scene with artists such as ROAM, Adrian Raso and Rex Van der Spuy, and is also pursuing a solo tabla career that integrates live tabla with textured melody and rhythm loops. Anita accompanies kathak dance classes and teaches tabla at the M-DO and Toronto Tabla Ensemble Centre for World Music and Dance.
